Geochemist Denise Mitrano has been awarded this year's Marie Heim-V?gtlin Prize by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). She has developed a method for tracking micro- and nanoplastic particles in waters, soils and organisms.
Gregor Weiss receives International Birnstiel Award 2021
The International Birnstiel Award was launched in 2019. One of the six awardees in 2021 is Dr. Gregor Weiss of the Pilhofer lab who developed high-end imaging workflows using cryo-electron tomography together with complementing techniques to study bacterial cell-cell interactions.
