Dr. Samia Bachmann

Samia Bachmann has been working as an Animal Welfare Officer for ETH Zurich since 2019, being function lead of ¡°animal welfare and 3R¡± since 2024. She is a doctor of veterinary medicine and also completed a PhD from ETH. She thereby gained years of experience in conducting animal experiments herself. In her current position she consults and supports animal experimenters and promotes a continuous optimization of animal holdings and applied research methods. She is a member of the Animal Welfare Officer Network, the Swiss Culture of Care and the Swiss Laboratory Animal Science Association (external page SGV).
