ChatGPT and other large language models have come to stay. As tools that can quickly process and generate a lot of text they may be extremely valuable, but there are numerous downsides that one should be aware of.
This course provides a broad overview and is rather focused on the meta level than on hands-on activities. You will understand phenomenologically what a large language model does under the hood and how this can affect its behavior. This will be valuable for you when assessing the output of such algorithms. We will very much focus on inappropriate use cases.
